Orthogonal 0/90 Twill Carbon Fibre Sheets – Double-Sided Smooth
These double-sided smooth orthogonal 0/90 twill carbon fibre sheets & plates are manufactured by Juno Composites to deliver superior stiffness and strength along the fibre directions compared to conventional autoclave and resin infusion laminates. Built from stacked plies of 3k 2×2 twill carbon fibre fabric within an epoxy resin system, the laminates achieve a high 61% fibre volume fraction (Vf) for reliable mechanical performance.
Every sheet is void-free, dimensionally stable, and ISO 9001-certified, ensuring consistency and reliability under demanding loads. These are not cosmetic-grade sheets – they feature a moulded smooth surface on both sides (Class C finish), which may contain cosmetic scratches that in no way affect structural performance. If a flawless visual finish is required, please see our Aesthetic Veneers & Foils. With thicknesses available up to 8 mm and a glass transition temperature (Tg) of 80 °C, these sheets provide a high-performance solution for structural engineering needs.
Why This Layup?
The 0/90 orthogonal architecture maximises stiffness and strength along the fibre axes. In fact, these sheets provide higher performance in the 0/90 directions compared with quasi-isotropic laminates, making them ideal for designs where loads are predominantly aligned with the fibre orientations. While they are less efficient under off-axis loads, they excel in applications with predictable stress paths, delivering efficient use of fibre strength and weight.
The twill weave faces also improve machining characteristics during CNC milling and drilling by helping to mitigate fibre breakout at cut edges. For designs where edge quality and machining precision are important, 0/90 twill sheets are a highly suitable choice.
Applications include:
- Motorsport chassis inserts & load-bearing parts

Surface Finish Classes:
These laminates are structural-grade, not cosmetic. Surfaces are defined by function, not appearance:
– Class A – Smooth, glossy, nearly flawless finish for visually demanding applications
– Class B – Peel ply, bonding-ready textured face
– Class C – Moulded smooth tool surface (not cosmetic, may have scratches)
– Class D – Smooth textured face,
hygienic and washable
See our Surface Finish FAQ for full details.
Note: For all finishes, where UV exposure is present, surfaces should be protected with a suitable UV-stable coating.
