Quasi-Isotropic Carbon Fibre Sheets Double-Sided Smooth (Quad Core) are manufactured by Juno Composites to deliver high structural performance at a cost-effective price point. Built exclusively from multiple layers of quadaxial non-crimp carbon fibre reinforcement (0°, 90°, +45°, -45°) infused perfectly with an epoxy resin system, these laminates achieve quasi-isotropic in-plane mechanical properties and a high 61% fibre volume fraction (Vf).Every sheet is void-free, dimensionally stable, and ISO 9001-certified

Each sheet has a smooth, engineering-grade moulded surface on both sides (Class C finish). As a Quad Core construction, the surfaces are moulded directly from the tool face (no 3k woven facings). While smooth to the touch, Class C surfaces may contain minor cosmetic scratches that do not affect structural performance.

Unlike our premium variant with 3k 2×2 twill woven faces, this version is made from pure quadaxial reinforcement throughout. The result is a cost-effective sheet with the same balanced strength and stiffness profile, ideal for structural applications where enhanced machining performance or a woven surface finish is not required.

Why This Layup?

The quadaxial non-crimp core delivers high stiffness and strength in multiple in-plane directions, because the fibre tows are laid straight without interlacement. This produces quasi-isotropic performance, meaning the laminate distributes loads evenly across the in-plane 0°, 90°, +45°, and –45° directions and mimics the mechanical behaviour of isotropic materials such as steel and aluminium, while weighing considerably less. For this reason, quasi-isotropic carbon fibre composites are sometimes referred to as “Black Aluminum”.

In comparison to orthogonal 0/90 laminates, these sheets offer better off-axis load handling, improved impact resistance, and greater damage tolerance under multidirectional stresses.

For components requiring frequent machining (such as CNC-cut parts with exposed edges or drilled holes), the 3k-faced quasi-isotropic sheets provide superior edge quality and reduced fibre breakout during milling and drilling operations. However, for designs where machining is minimal or secondary, the Quad Core version offers the same structural performance at a more competitive cost.

-Class D  Smooth textured face, hygienic and washable
